dr. Fajar

dr. Fajar has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Orthodontics from Tokyo Medical and Dental University and he is currently building on his qualification by pursuing an Academic Professor degree.

Born in Nemuro city, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan and earned his Dental degree at Faculty of Dentristry, Trisakti University in 1995.

Soon after graduated, he was accepted at Tokyo Medical and Dental University as a research student in Orthodontics for two years and continued his study by taking Postgraduate Study at the same University. He received his PhD in Orthodontics in year 2002.

During his study in Japan, he also practiced, for four years, as Orthodontics assistance at several dental clinic such as: Nara Dental Clinic in Tokyo, Wada Dental Clinic in Fukiage, Saitama, and Fukawa Orthodontic Clinic in Ofuna, Kanagawa. Thru these experiences, he gained broad knowledge of “clinical experience in orthodontics” especially in treating Japanese patients.

He is currently a member of World Federation of Orthodontics, Japanese Basic Science Association, Japan Orthodontics Society, and Indonesian Association of Orthodontists. The latest scientific meeting he attended was 8th International Orthodontics Congress which held in London 2015.

After completing his Postgraduate Study at Tokyo Medical and Dental University, in 2002, he decided to go back to Jakarta and work as a lecturer at Faculty of Dentistry Trisakti University in the Department of Orthodontics. He taught around 200 undergraduate students every year in orthodontic. He has been giving lectured extensively in Orthodontics and been very active in training and examining all undergraduate, postgraduate dentists, as well as dental care professionals.

Based on adaptation program for foreign graduated orthodontist regulation in Indonesia, Dr. Fajar studied orthodontics course at University of Indonesia for another 4 years, and achieved his accreditation and competency as “Orthodontic Specialist” degree at University of Indonesia. Hence, a total study in orthodontics field for 10 years and practicing for more than 14 years.

In year 2002, he joined SmileWorks Dental Care as an orthodontist and treated more than 500 orthodontic cases, collaborates with other dental university in Japan and he already published 2 medical textbooks and routinely publish orthodontics case reports in orthodontics journals and invited as a speakers in orthodontics or other scientific conferences since 2002.

Treating difficult and complicated case which most orthodontists reluctant to treat, is his passion.
