Born in Nemuro, Hokkaido, Japan, Dr. Fajar earned his degree in Dentistry from Trisakti University in 1995. In the following year, he entered Tokyo Medical and Dental University, where he received his PhD in Orthodontics in 2002, and subsequently completed his Orthodontics Specialist program at the University of Indonesia, bringing his total formal training in orthodontics to nearly ten years.
During his studies in Japan, Dr. Fajar was a practicing orthodontic assistant at numerous dental clinics including Nara Dental Clinic in Chofu, Tokyo, Wada Dental Clinic in Fukiage, Saitama, and Fukawa Orthodontic Clinic in Ofuna, Kanagawa. Upon completing his postgraduate studies in Tokyo, he returned to Jakarta and began his teaching career in the Department of Orthodontics at Trisakti University, while furthering his clinical expertise through the specialist training program at the University of Indonesia.
Dr. Fajar gives regular lectures and training in orthodontics to undergraduate and graduate dentistry students as well as dental care professionals. He has been part of the Smileworks Dental Care team since 2002 and is currently a member of the Japanese Basic Science Association, the Japan Orthodontic Society, and the Indonesian Association of Orthodontists (Ikatan Ortodontis Indonesia). In his spare time, Dr. Fajar enjoys spending time with his children, walks 6 kilometers on the treadmill twice a week, and routinely cycles approximately 35 kilometers on weekends.
